Our Rock Candles- Oil Lamps are made from natural stone quarried in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. The rocks we choose are selected for their natural beauty, varying in color and texture as no man made product can, after the rock is quarried, they are selected to become one, two or three wick rock candles, the holes are drilled and a glass reservoir is attached using a special silicone which completely seals the rock A stainless steel wick holder is inserted in the hole, and a fiberglass wick is placed in the holder. The holder and wick should never need replacing, and our wicks are coated to prevent unraveling.Each rock is truly unique, a one of a kind natural treasure. The dramatic effect of fire coming directly out of rock is unsurpassed. Their popularity is indescribable. Each Carolina Flaming Rock Oil Lamp comes with a funnel for filling the reservoir and a display card with full instructions. We recommend using a smoke-free lamp oil indoors, and many of our customers use a citronella oil outdoors in the garden or on the patio. The size of the rocks will vary: small rocks (one wick) measure from 6" x 10" while three wick rocks can be as large as 12" x 12". Colors are also variable, most of the stone we use has mixtures of reds, grays, browns, and silvers. Special orders available.
